Recently car dealers have started to embrace new technology to engage with consumers, we see many more car dealers and manufacturers on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter these days. Not to be left behind, Volvo has launched a new app for the iPhone and iPad, at the moment it is centred on the new Volvo S60. Volvo plans to launch more of these apps so this S60 app is the first of many to come.
David Holecek who is responsible for Volvo Cars' digital strategy said, "Many customers use mobile phones and Internet tablets to search for information. Now we're simply ensuring that we are where our customers are, opening a window into the company. We've integrated a number of unique features, such as using the mobile phone's built-in gyro to look around inside the car. If you turn the phone, the image viewed moves too, creating the impression that you're actually sitting inside the car."
These apps can be used not just to engage with customers, if used properly they can also be used to bring customers into dealerships. The current Volvo app uses geo location tagging to direct the user to the nearest Volvo dealership.
All Volvo apps will be free to download from the Apple app store, Volvo has already planned to create an iPad app containing Volvo Cars' customer magazine. This magazine app will provide access to some of the traditional magazine's content such as Volvo C70 offers in Chelmsford along with a variety of bonus functions such as extra graphic image and film material.

It is also required by law and code that the many safety rules be implemented. These rules may refer to toxic fumes and materials, physical dangers on moving equipment, proper signage and lighting, and flammable and explosive materials.
Explosion and fire hazards can occur for many reasons. Any area that uses or produces a wide range of chemicals and solvents may be candidates for this type of danger. Many fuels present similar a similar hazard, as do explosive materials. Even dusty environments can be dangerous in this manner.
Different environments can be rated at different levels of hazard, depending on the severity of the danger. In the United States and certain other countries, these levels are divided into "Class", "Division" and "Group". Some standards are Class I, Class II and Class III, Division 1 or Division 2, and Groups A, B, C, D, E, F and G. There are other terms, such as nonincendive, which can further describe the hazard. Europe uses a somewhat different set of classifications, and there are similar systems in use around the world. Once a specific manufacturing facility area has received a classification, it must make sure that anything used in that area meets the hazardous specifications. This applies to anything within the area, including light fixtures, power outlets, motors, mixers, computers, and measuring devices, including industrial scales.
The best type of rating available for electronic scales that are meant to be used in hazardous locations is "Intrinsically Safe". This means that the scale has been designed in such a way that it cannot cause a hazardous situation, even if a failure was to occur. These Intrinsically Safe scales are often suitable for a wide range of Classes, Divisions and Groups. Generally, this type of industrial scale will have a self contained power supply that by its design, can not supply a significant amount of energy. This may be a small battery unit that has internally connected power limiters. So even if the power outputs were shorted, there would not be enough energy to ignite a flame or explosion.
Most digital scales require more energy than the specifications will allow, so they cannot obtain a rating as an explosion proof scale. Some specially designed intrinsically safe scales, such as those produced by Arlyn Scales, need such a small amount of energy that they can meet these requirements. For example, Arlyn's intrinsically safe scales only use a single "C" cell battery, in a specially designed housing. This battery will power the scale for up to 40 hours of use on a single charge. To encourage breeding, the females need to be fed on freeze-dried bloodworms, dry flakes, and a few live or frozen brine shrimp each day. Three live Black Worms each per day will also be necessary. Make sure there are only a few males and plenty of females in the water. Being chased by other fish is stressful and not conducive to pregnancy. To stop the baby fish being eaten by others, the Molly can be placed gently into another aquarium just before she gives birth - you'll notice the size increasing - or buy a special contraption called a net breeder to keep the babies safe until they are older. The fry (baby fish) must be fed three times a day with just a little finely powdered fish flakes. When they are about an inch long, which will take from one to four months, they can be released from their protective net.
To breed Pink Convicts you need to get 8 or 10 little ones and raise them up together. When they are mature, they will pair off and build a nest in the gravel or a cave under a rock. There the female will lay eggs and both will guard them until they hatch in three or four days. The babies are hardy and easy to raise, but convicts in general are much more aggressive than Mollies.
It's the same for Angels. You need to get several young ones, raise them together and let them pair off naturally. If you buy a mature pair, their bond may be lost when they are moved to a new home. Then you say "I'm glad I could help you, and since I did such a good job for you, I'd like to do the same quality work for other people that you know. Who do you know that you can give me a reccomendation or referral to?"
Right there you have gotten consent to get a reccomendation from this person to other people he knows. You're getting leads for new business with no lead cost.
And you can even add incentive for referrals by knocking a few bucks off your price for each referral given.
Now some of you may have cringed at that last statement "I don't want to give away money" but the fact is that it's an investment.
Will all of the referrals turn up winners, no of course not...but some will...and the fee they pay you will cover the bucks you knocked off the last guy and net you more business without the cost of aquiring the lead.
That way, you can increase business without any money...AND you increase your profits without having to work longer.

Voip Reaching Out Worldwide
The other day I had to phone a friend in Singapore so I phoned his VoIP number. The call did not connect because ny friend had his PC off and his voip phone adaptor was also off.
I tried his mobile and finally got through to him.
I asked my friend why his phone adaptor was off and he said "old habits die hard". He said that in Singapore the habit is to use the Mobile phone even though it is more expensive.
When I reminded my friend that this call is costing me heaps (I was calling International) he sighed and said he had forgotten that I would be paying for the call.
He said he would switch on his voip telephone adaptor ( I am sure you know the one your home/office plugs into) and I could call back in a few minutes saving me heaps.
With the Worlds economies in tatters leaving most of us with little or no disposable income its great to see that there is a way to minimise an expense that is classed as one of the necessities in life ie. communication with the outside World. But like my friend said "Old habits die hard".
It is just a mindset really but a mindset that should check with reality from time to time. Look at the proliferation of Texting messages and the use of mobile phones as a "normal phone" for conversations, long and short. We think nothing of it to pick up the phone and use it to call others, until the bill comes. Look at what we pay each month on bills for the Mobile phone, the Internet, the home phone line, the calls we make and the total cost would surprise most of us. Can we afford to carry this on in an economic downturn that is seeing many of us out of work and with little spare cash?
Its a no brainer when you think about it.
The Communication Revolution is well under way but we must continue the fight for sometime yet to make sure that voip is so common that all calls basically will be either free or very low cost (and without the hidden charges so prevalent with Mobiles and Landlines).
Surveys consistently tell us that the most essential tool for anyone in business is the Laptop. If this is so then this should be the centre of our office. Increasingly we are moving to a mobile office where we are able to work outside the office (even in a restaurant or park).
The Laptop can be used as a telephone and the calls can be free or very low cost simply by joining a voip company (eg. voip worldwide) and using voip for all of the calls.
Many Hotels now have a public wireless system that can be accessed from the Lobby or in some cases from the rooms. Some city councils around the World are installing wireless systems around their city in the beleif that it will help to cut business (and personal) costs and improve communications benefiting the community. This is very forward thinking and will in time be everywhere. Great stuff, practically a World without borders. Pick up the phone while you munch on a Mc.Donalds burger and call your friend in some far away country and pay almost nothing for the call or have it free as though you are calling your friend who is just down the road from you. Who would have thought even 5 years ago that this was a possibilty. What surprises will the next 10 years bring us?
Smartphones and iPhones now have a voip feature that only requires you to register with a voip company.
This is perhaps the most promising area of growth for voip as more increasingly we are becoming a mobile World. These phones also bring us television, our local sports results, the weather, local restaurants, local emergency information, the internet and a host of other amazing features.
Another area of growth is the use of the Voip telephone adaptor that allows you to plug in your normal phone and use as a voip phone or a "normal" phone just by pressing a couple of buttons on the phone itself. Saves a fortune off your home or business telecom account and you can also phone your friends or business colleagues totally free of any cost.
